This morning started out like any other Friday morning… I shut off my alarm, rolled out of bed, and came downstairs to watch the news and check my email. Pretty standard stuff, is it not? Well, I was treated to an extra special surprise this morning…

277 COMMENTS ON MY BLOG!!!

My first assumption was that they were all just run-of-the-mill spam… “Cheap Viagra”, “Asian Porn”, and “Hot Russian Women Want to Meet You” type stuff. Boy, oh boy, was I wrong.

It seems that some valiant soldier in the army of God decided to assault my humble little blog. He was, at least, kind enough to send me an email (from a spoofed address) explaining himself.

It seems that he wanted to warn me that “God is gong (sic) to give you aides (sic) you athest (sic) fag and you will learn the truth while your (sic) burning in Hell”

To emphasize this point, he took the time to post 277 comments that were ALL BIBLE QUOTES IN CAPS LIKE THIS WITH NO PUNCTUATION OR PARAGRAPH BREAKS. I tend to dismiss comments typed in this manner as the ramblings of a sociopath.

I’m sorry you wasted so much of your time, my friend. I would think that at some point in the three hours you spent typing the comments that I moderate all the comments on this blog. I can only assume that you were desperately in need of some activity to occupy your hands whilst you were tweaking your ass off.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear… I do not reject comments simply because they disagree with my views. If you have a cogent argument to make, I encourage you to do so. I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that you are completely incapable of doing so.

I would also like to make a few points in response to your email…

- Simply because an individual expresses the view that homosexuals are human beings, and deserve to be treated with the same dignity and respect as all human beings, does not mean that they are gay. I am straight. If I were gay, I would not conceal that fact, as I see absolutely no shame in it.

- In case you haven’t stayed up on all the medical research in the last 20 years, AIDS is not a “gay” disease. HIV, like all other viruses, does not differentiate between sexual orientations. It is true that homosexual men are generally within the higher risk groups, but it is important to note that gay women are among those within the lowest risk groups. If AIDS was, as so many of you like to suggest, a plague sent by some angry deity to punish homosexuals, it would be logical to assume that he would have done a better job giving it to lesbians, wouldn’t it?

- I don’t believe in your concept of “Hell”. To me, Hell would be a place in which I was surrounded by moronic, bigoted, psychopaths such as yourself.

I suppose all I have left to say is this: Lay off the drugs, get some professional help, and stop using religion to justify that burning hatred you feel within yourself. Life can be pretty wonderful if you learn to replace that hate with love.
